valentine's days

busy, busy week

What a week! I went so many places and met so many people. Okay, maybe not that many people, but it sure feels like it. I only had a few days to myself, so I wasn't able to write in here for a while. Still, this is a daily life archive, and I will be archiving.

Monday, 08/12/24

A valiant attempt to start using my planner again. I haven't been having much luck so far, but I finally wrote down this week's happenings.

Almost a real college junior today. Tomorrow it'll be official. Isn't it funny how the school year drags on and on, but then the next one comes along and it suddenly feels like no time at all has passed? I want time to keep flying by just like this. I want it to never move at all.

Tuesday, 08/13/24

Finished the last steps of my enrollment. It was surprisingly fast, so I spent the rest of the day hanging out with my boyfriend after a few weeks of not seeing him. Some of the best hours of the week.

Wednesday, 08/14/24

I went to a book fair with my boyfriend and one of our friends. There were supposed to be more people than just us three, but well, life circumstances. It was in the neighboring city, where our friend lives, so I took the train with my boyfriend and we met up with her there.

Public transportation is absolutely not one of my strengths, but it's something I have to learn. There's just something about it that scares the shit out of me. Am I going in the right direction? Am I waiting in the correct line? Do I actually have money left in my card? Ack.

Thursday, 08/15/24

Met up with my immortal high school friend group. I could only stay for a few hours and had to miss out on the sleepover, but it was still some of the best few hours of this entire week, right up there with Tuesday.

Friday, 08/16/24

The first real day I had to myself the whole week. I read my book fair books and then crammed a presentation for one of my organizations' start-of-the-year planning. I was almost done with it a few days ago, before all the going out, but then we were given a format we were supposed to follow and then I just didn't want to edit my work to fit the format anymore.

It all turned out pretty good, though. Following the format gave me a few more ideas, and I ended up with a better presentation than I'd originally made. I swear I felt my ego inflate when I worked out a feasible-looking timeline for my committee. I hope it actually works...

Saturday, 08/17/24

Did my presentation and met the rest of the executive committee. It looks like at least half are seniors, which had me thinking about which among us juniors would end up president or vice president next year.

The meeting lasted forever, but it was okay, because we all brought food. A bit too much food, actually. By the end of it we were scrambling to eat as much as we could to reduce the amount of leftovers we had to take home.

Sunday, 08/18/24

Had a slow morning, but I really need to get moving, because I desperately need to do the dishes and clear my desk. I'm currently paying the price for all the walking I did this week: my ankles have been hurting like hell for the past few days, and the one I once injured in fencing practice has me limping at night. It's still noon, though, which means I have time to do my chores before it comes back to bug me.

Hope you all had a fun week!
