proof of life
March is flying by much faster than I expected it to. I feel like a hundred different things have happened to me since I last wrote here, and I only remember them because they're marked in my planner. I don't really have the capacity to write about it in full, so this will have to do:
My older brother moved to another country. In the airport, he gave me his Switch and his childhood stuffed penguin. I tried not to cry, and failed spectacularly. In true spoiled little sister fashion, I've been devoting hours and hours of my free time to Pokemon Scarlet, still using my save on one of his user profiles from when he let me play it the first time.
I got my brand new glasses and smashed them three (3) days later because I set them down on my bed and forgot about them. I panicked and called my mom in the middle of an appointment because I thought I'd just wasted a shit ton of her money, but she cared more about my wellbeing than my glasses' and just told me to take them back to the shop and get them fixed (which almost made me start bawling right there, holding the wreckage in my hand). They're all in one piece again, but I still think they're crooked just the tiniest bit, and it haunts me. Maybe I'll go back to get them adjusted again.
I went to a cosplay convention for the first time with my friends! We ended up staying later and spending more money than we thought we would, but it was worth it, I think. My bag definitely jingles a lot more now, from all the charms it's acquired. I was, ostensibly, Yuki from Jujutsu Kaisen. It was a no-brainer because I unironically dress like that all the time, so I didn't have to buy any new pieces. I'm not blonde, though, and I didn't have the guts to wear a wig, so I was really just some random girl wearing black walking around the event hall. Next time I'll really commit to the bit.
My class successfully pulled off hosting a seminar! I was head of the programs committee, which meant a month of working on the script on and off and supervising other stuff like post captions. We'll be working on another one in a few weeks' time, but hopefully it'll be easier now since we've got our old stuff to build upon. To be honest, it was a project I'm proud of, even though we didn't get that many attendees.
I hope you've been having a great month!
